Can minimalist even decorate for Christmas? Doesn't that go again what minimalist stands for? My answer... YES to decorating! I am a minimalist and I love decorating. To me minimalism is about loving what you have in your life, asking "does this add value?" And for me, decorating for holidays and the different seasons ADDS value. But each decoration is special and has meaning to me. I don't go out and buy all new decorations every year, instead I try to use what I already own. Another part of minimalism is using less space, so that means making sure all my decorations (besides my tree) fit in only two boxes. Pillow + Blankets. This is an easy + fun way to decorate. Also a great way to decorate if you don't like to add holes into your walls, or if you don't have extra time to hang up holiday art, lights or a tree. Plus it's extra cozy with winter blankets, which hardly get used after February with the Texas heat. Christmas decorating is meant to be fun. So if you are feeling up to going all out with decorations and lights, it's more than okay to keep it simple and less stressful.
